Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026. GridCensus is operated by Hyder Media.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, display name, and the sites, lists, watches and alerts you save.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your plan and Stripe customer reference, never your card details.
- API use: API keys are stored hashed, with request counts for rate limits.
- Site lookups: the places checked in Vet a site, the dossier and the API (see below).
- Usage analytics: Google Analytics page views, and sign-in cookies that keep you signed in.
Site lookups
When you check a place in Vet a site, open a dossier, or call the API's /screen or /power endpoints, we keep a private record of the place (the text you entered, its coordinates, state and county, and target size), the time, and your account and plan if you are signed in.
- We use it only as totals, for example which counties are checked most, to decide what data to improve and to describe demand in aggregate.
- We never show, publish, share or sell individual addresses or tell anyone which places you looked at.
- The record is held in our database with access limited to our staff.
- Enterprise accounts can switch it off under Account → Lookup privacy. Then nothing about your lookups is stored.
To return results, the text you enter is sent to the US Census Bureau geocoder, the FCC area lookup and Google News, as described on the Vet a site page.
Who processes data for us
Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and sign-in), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Google (analytics) and Anthropic (summarising public news about a place; no account data is sent). We don't sell personal data.
Your choices
You can remove saved items from your account at any time, and ask us to delete your account and the lookups tied to it by emailing kenny@hyder.me.
